Ariva Renewables are registered installers for the UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

The UK Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a government initiative aimed at helping homeowners and small businesses transition from fossil fuel heating systems to low-carbon alternatives. Launched in May 2022, the scheme provides financial support to encourage the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers, which are more environmentally friendly than traditional gas and oil boilers.

It supports the UK's broader goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Key Features of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme:

Financial Support:

  • Grants of £5,000 are available for air source heat pumps.

These grants are intended to cover a significant portion of the installation costs, making this technology more accessible.

Eligibility Criteria:

The property must be in England or Wales.- The existing fossil fuel heating system must be replaced (new builds are generally not eligible).

  • The property owner must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation (unless exempt). Please note Ariva can install both loft and cavity insulation if required for this grant.

Application Process:

  • Homeowners and small businesses can first contact us as installers registered with the scheme.
  • We would apply for the grant on your behalf.
  • Once the grant is approved, we can proceed with the installation, and the grant amount is deducted from the total cost of the installation.

Benefits of Participating in the Scheme:

  • Cost Savings: Significant reduction in upfront costs for installing low-carbon heating systems.
  • Environmental Impact: Reduced carbon emissions and a smaller environmental footprint.
  • Energy Efficiency: Improved heating efficiency and potentially lower energy bills over time.

A heat pump should be considered as part of a broader energy efficiency strategy. All aspects of energy usage, insulation and ventilation should be considered before proceeding with a heat pump installation. Ariva Renewables can advise on all these aspects, please get in touch to discuss your particular requirements.
