Ariva Renewables offer complete hot water and heating installations with a focus on heating via energy efficient means. This is via the installation of R290 air source heat pumps which can provide heating, hot water and cooling, or via hot water cylinders with ASHP technology built directly into the unit. We offer systems which can integrate with either radiators, underfloor heating, fan coil units, or any combination of the three.
Previously, separate electrical heating was required to pasteurise hot water delivered by older ASHP units which tended to run at much lower temperatures. With the inception of R290 units into the UK market however, flow temperatures of up to 75 degrees can be obtained.
R290, also known as propane, is a natural refrigerant that is gaining popularity in air source heat pumps (ASHPs) for the UK market due to its low environmental impact and high efficiency. As a hydrocarbon refrigerant, R290 has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 3, significantly lower than conventional refrigerants like R410A, which has a GWP of around 2088. This makes R290 a highly sustainable option for heat pump systems, aligning with the UK's climate goals to reduce carbon emissions and reliance on high-GWP substances.
R290 ASHPs work by extracting heat from the outside air, even in colder temperatures, and transferring it to provide heating or hot water for buildings. These systems are energy-efficient, often delivering more heat than the electricity they consume, making them cost-effective and suitable for residential and commercial properties.
